TACKLE VIOLENT CRIME
  • Support the implementation and monitor the effectiveness of programs aimed at reducing violence (focus on young men)
  • Fully staff Hopewell Police Department and review competitive wages
  • Optimize technological advancements to aid HPD (traffic cameras, license plate readers, etc.)
PROVIDE STRONG – COMMON SENSE LEADERSHIP
  • Partner with industry to maintain strong tax revenue and source of employment
  • Foster the recruitment of new businesses and support existing businesses
  • Coordinate with neighboring cities/counties and organizations to achieve greater strength in addressing common issues
GROW ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY
  • Work with local business and industry management to retain their presence in Hopewell
  • Leverage city venues for new revenue sources to offset tax requirements of citizens (eg. fishing and sports tournaments, concerts)
  • Collaborate with Chamber of Commerce (set mutual expectations to serve local business)
  • Investigate conversion of rental property to home ownership
ENHANCE RESPECTABILITY OF HOPEWELL
  • Complete corrections to city’s financial records and processes then publicize successes
  • Create civil, respectful atmosphere at council meetings
  • Repair relationship with Hopewell Manufacturing Association
  • Improve infrastructure while beautifying our city
PREPARE FUTURE GENERATIONS
  • Vocational school opportunity (within Hopewell or with neighboring schools)
  • Support dual enrollment programs – Brightpoint, Richard Bland
  • Public safety careers coaching with local push (Fire, EMT, TSA, etc.)
  • Coordinate post high school scholarships with direct ties to employment
